Bond 23 Action Sequence “Could Feature Great Wall of China”
Speculation is rife as to where the movie will be shooting, with India, South Africa & now China, all in the frame. One media source has said that a ‘major action sequence’ is being considered along The Great Wall of China. This would form the centrepiece to the movies finale and may well involve a car chase along the Great Wall itself.
Interestingly enough, a sequence similar to this was to be used in Timothy Dalton’s second James Bond film “Licence To Kill”, but was ultimately dropped when the Chinese government demanded editing rights on the sequence. However, it could be resurrected for the new film starring Daniel Craig, in his third outing as Bond.
“Quantum of Solace” also employed this tactic and used a sequence originally to be shot for George Lazenby’s Bond movie “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” but dropped in production. The sequence was a daring rooftop chase from Gumbold’s office after Bond breaks in. This sequence was re-born as the rooftop chase between Bond and the MI6/Quantum double agent Mitchell in “Quantum of Solace”.
We’ll have to wait and see…
